Maybe I'm just quick to form judgments of places (based on location, typically), but these joints have potential to come off as well, frattastic and lame. But wait--I've found reason to love them!
I'm almost embarrassed to say this, but this Viagra Triangle spot has the best grilled chicken fingers....ever.
A kitschy pub that's steeped in history. Love this spot for happy hour. Food is a-okay and crowd is non-douchey.
May feel a bit suburban (thanks to the strip mall setting), bit this is a local gem. Try the seasonal draft brew or the trusty Green Line. Burgers are decent too.
One of the top beer geek destinations in the city is also home to some surprisingly good BBQ. Stop by for trivia night!
One of the most popular pizza spots in town, and it's not even Chicago-style! What the..? Gotta love the thin, slightly crisp crust and the not-too-cheesy finish. Great craft beer that's made in-house.
Chest-bumping bros are drinking their Bud Lights and missing out on some of the most phenomenal charcuterie and sandwiches in town.
The dining room at this Italian/French/other Euro mashup drips with luxe touches, bit menu is affordable. Try the house-milled flour in pizzas & pastas. Huge Belgian beer selection.
A dependable (if predictable) bbq bar/resto. Check out the pulled pork and mac n' cheese. Live tunes provide a fun atmosphere.
It's always hoppin' here, and for good reason. Grass-fed burgers are juicy and well-priced. I love the bison burger too. Shakes are a must! Expect to wait on weekends.
The craft beer flows like water at this bi-level sports bar. Food is fun & a small notch above most bars'. Good spot to watch the Badgers' game.
