Is it just me, or friend time always seem to include wine, beer, or other adult beverages? I'm here to say that there are perfectly lovely places to meet for NOT a drink (not an alcoholic one, at least).
A nifty combo of cafe/gift shop. Grab some friends and drink chai at the floor-level tables in front.
It's all about nostalgia here. Nothing's particularly gourmet, but portions shareable and crowd-pleasing. Good for kiddos. Service is brisk.
The cream of the farmers market crop! Klug Farms rules the produce scene & Crumb is a bread-lover's dream.
Swing by in the a.m. for the "egg in a hole" or scone and a coffee, or any time for an Airstream (aka Twinkie), a cake ball, or a house-made s'more.
Biggest challenge here is saving room for dessert! Pastas are killer, brunch sandwiches rock, but sweets (hot choc, ice cream, tarts) a must
Sheer perfection! Seasonal fruit pies are top-notch & banana cream is out of this world. Strong coffee, amazing scones too. Mini pies too!
Always packed, thanks to fab baristas and a sunny workspace that's perfect for Macbooks.
Amongst the Starbuckses and Caribous, this is a ray of independent sunshine! The lattes are truly art. Love sitting on the deck in summer.
The kind of sunny shop you could hang at all day! Lots to love, from croissants, fruit tarts, sandwiches, yummy coffee, and homemade jams.
By far the most adorable storefront in the city. Plan to Bring your laptop & stay awhile. Pies are great, of course, but do NOT overlook the buttery biscuits.
A feel-good spot with a friendly owner and delectable pumpkin bread.
