There is no shortage of fantastic pizza in SF--here are a few of my top picks (ranging from Neapolitan to New York!).
I love bringing out-of-town visitors to this restaurant. It may be hidden away in Dogpatch, but is so worth the trek. Stunning space (chic and artsy but not too-too), the food is market-fresh and homey, and I really enjoy the well-selected wine list. Great for lunch: some of the city's best salads!
I try to block this pizza out of my mind because I could eat it every damn week. The amatriciana is a version of my favorite pasta, a brilliant pizza (with an egg on it, oh you know it). Meatballs, delish. Chef-owner Sharon Ardiana also rocks the salads.
The pizzas here are classically Neapolitan--soft centers, with a delicious elastic crust, and traditional (simple) toppings. Love it. The waiters have serious Italian accents. Nice outdoor seating makes it a great spot for an alfresco lunch.
