Echo Park might be my favorite restaurant in ALL of Los Angeles. Here are some of my go-to places to score a meal.
I usually deter from anything "fusion" (Kogi is except), but Xoia does the marrying of Mexican and Vietnamese quite well. Their pho is solid, as are their vermicelli noodles. My favorite, though, are their potato tacos. P.S. The mint sparkling limeade with crushed ice hits the spot on ridiculously hot days.
Well curated produce, along with in-house made terrines and pâtés. They serve amazing creams, milk and yogurt from Straus. And their sandwiches and quiches on Saturday mornings are delicious. Love.
The mulitas with pastor are my absolute favorite; their array of salsas are some of the best in town. The line can be ridiculous so just prepare for a wait. Also the ladies who run this truck couldn't be sweeter.
The tortillas might be the most perfect tortillas EVER. The real win is the quesadilla with queso fresco--just be sure to add chorizo (not on the menu).
Their brunch is mediocre, but the dinner is the real winner. Chef takes simple food and does it well. Farm fresh ingredients. Nice!
If you're ever in the mood for vegan food that's full of flavor, spicy and hearty, look no further. This place has great salsas, brown rice (made Spanish-style) and really good beans. And all at a really affordable price. Love it here!
