So much of River North is touristy--as reflected in massively inflated prices! Here are some spots worth looking into for lunch, dinner, and liquid refreshments.
A kitschy pub that's steeped in history. Love this spot for happy hour. Food is a-okay and crowd is non-douchey.
So easy to pass over, but so rewarding if you don't. Cappuccinos perfectly frothed, sandwiches are solid (the meatier the better, so go for the Italian sub), but gelato nothing to write home about.
Good pick for after work bubbly or cocktails w/o the Michigan Ave zaniness. Head downstairs to Watershed for an even better scene.
Although it feels chain-y, there's something for everyone to love. Staff is great. Ditto the thin crust 'za & salads. Stick w/ the basics.
Plenty of space to get your groove on (upstairs), nosh Irish fare, and mingle with a fun-loving crowd. Snag an outdoor spot in summer!
Perennially packed Rick Bayless gem where you can grab his killer guac, along w/ Mex sandwiches, for a cas lunch. Fab coffee & pastries too.
A slick space for a slurpy power lunch or a noodly dinner date. Love the little tapas-style bincho bites & the yuzu macarons for dessert.
