There are plenty of places to find good, cheap Mexican food OTP (Outside The Perimeter) of Atlanta and Buford Highway-here are some of my favorite places where you wouldn't normally go, but are authentic, cheap and incredibly delicious!
La Sabrosita is a popular Mexican restaurant in the Lilburn area-I highly recommend their chicken fajitas and pork platter. End the meal with their delicious sopapilla or flan!
El Torero is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Duluth. With 30+ combos under $10, their chile relleno, queso fundido and endless fresh chips and salsa are incredible!
If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in Historic Norcross, look no further than Zapata. With great lunch specials and a variety of molcajete stews, be sure to try out the Maya 3 combo and a jalapeno or strawberry margarita while you're there!
El Norteno is a great choice if you're looking for big portions at cheap prices. With over 15+ combo items under $6, try any of the combos that come with tamales, enchiladas or burritos!
Marietta is lucky to have this little gem in the area. With a full American and Mexican cuisine menu, Paradise Grille sure makes some mean fish tacos, quesadillas and one of the best chile rellenos I've had anywhere else! And be sure to order the Durango Sandwich-it's one insanely delicious chicken sandwich!
For those residing in the Duluth/Lawrenceville border, El Porton is a fantastic choice. With an endless menu of traditional dishes, friendly service and fun atmosphere, there's always a crowd here! Be sure to try their salmon mojo de ajo (garlic and butter) or steak fajitas!
Friendly service, even better authentic Mexican cuisine. From the tacos to the quesadillas and everything in between, everything is affordable, made fresh to order and delicious. Get anything made using their signature, slow-roasted al pastor-YUM!
If you're looking for a quick taco fix on the other side of Pleasant Hill, stop by Vallarta to get your cravings satisfied. Definitely try their chorizo or chile relleno (battered & stuffed with cheese) taco!
El Dorado is a solid choice for authentic Mexican food in Duluth! Serving everything from burritos to tacos to stews and more, it's hard to choose one thing. Order any of the chile relleno combos or their signature molcajetes served in a volcanic bowl!
$1.19 tacos! Inexpensive food, large portions and authenticity are all to be found at any of Don Pedro's locations. My favorites are the steak, al pastor and chorizo tacos!
