It's easy to find yourself in a high-roller zone (or a wanna be high-roller zone) with minimal atmosphere and maximum pretense, but River North has some actual gastronomic and nightlife gems. Check these out.
The best darn sports bar I know of in the downtown vicinity. Food's solid too- try a burger.
Although it feels chain-y, there's something for everyone to love. Staff is great. Ditto the thin crust 'za & salads. Stick w/ the basics.
Plenty of space to get your groove on (upstairs), nosh Irish fare, and mingle with a fun-loving crowd. Snag an outdoor spot in summer!
Southern-style indulgence at its finest. The complimentary goat cheese biscuits are reason enough to walk in the door. Go gangbusters and get the fried chicken. And DO NOT skip dessert.
Hooray for simplicity! No high-brow burgers here- just thin, juicy patties (turkey and veg too) with standard toppings. There's a not-so-secret "secret menu" here, yours for the asking. Love the special shake flavors.
A slick space for a slurpy power lunch or a noodly dinner date. Love the little tapas-style bincho bites & the yuzu macarons for dessert.
Super chef Graham Elliot goes casual. Go for the sandwiches (obviously!)--the grilled cheese is the richest of the rich--but don't overlook the tasty salads. And soft serve is a must-try.
I love this location for its airy, multi-level space. They do breakfast (with Intelligentsia coffee!) too.
Waffle sandwiches rule the menu here. Mostly savory options are surprisingly light. Try the fried chicken sandwich!
