Let's face it: Between the "ummms" and awkward pauses, blind dates are kinda painful. These spots will help ease the tension with great atmosphere and plenty of diversions.
Bikers, yuppies & otherwise all have reason to love TS. Examples: One of the best beer lists around, rooftop seating, & great, greasy grub.
The quintessential Chicago jazz spot remains virtually unchanged from its early days. A very, very mixed crowd fills the room. You'll pay an admission charge, but drinks are inexpensive.
One of the top beer geek destinations in the city is also home to some surprisingly good BBQ. Stop by for trivia night!
Comedic history is made here. Grab a seat and watch the future SNL stars at work. Also awesome improv classes for budding Bill Murray types.
One of the most popular pizza spots in town, and it's not even Chicago-style! What the..? Gotta love the thin, slightly crisp crust and the not-too-cheesy finish. Great craft beer that's made in-house.
My favorite "slashie" in the city! On the bar side, live tunes and no-nonsense bartenders. On the liquor store front, there's a seriously comprehensive craft beer selection.
Chest-bumping bros are drinking their Bud Lights and missing out on some of the most phenomenal charcuterie and sandwiches in town.
A stellar spot to watch the game (go upstairs for the projection screen) or drink al fresco. Come hungry because the food is both creative (kangaroo pops up on the menu) and tasty.
Not the choice for a quiet date night, but a solid pick for a scene-y River North outing. Try the fruity Bootsy Collins cocktail.
It's always hoppin' here, and for good reason. Grass-fed burgers are juicy and well-priced. I love the bison burger too. Shakes are a must! Expect to wait on weekends.
Great for an afternoon with the laptop, but even greater for a night with a latte (or a brew or spiked coffee bev, if you're so inclined). Live tunes at night too!
Shockingly awesome bar food, from the fancy popcorn to juicy burger & boozy Italian ice. Beer menu is top-notch, as is service. Lovely patio
Hotel Lincoln's rooftop is a mecca of beautiful people (even locals!), fancy cocktails, and a killer view of Lincoln Park, the lake, and the skyline. Not too shabby.
