The 90's were all about clear liquor but the aughts brought us a celebration of the darker spirits. And I'm glad they did! Here is where I go when I want to meet up with my friend with a dark side--aka Whiskey.
This good looking room serves up stellar steaks, sides, wine and desserts 7 days a week. Don't miss the Manhattan, the Bloody Mary, the burger or the happy hour that runs Monday - Friday 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. when bites set you back just $4- $7.
Love. This. Place. OTB presents contemporary performance artists from around the world as well as emerging artists from the northwest. Don't miss OTB movie night or grabbing a jack on your way into the theater.
Offering an enormous selection of wine and spirits they also host free tastings most Thursdays (5:00 to 6:30 pm) and Saturdays ( 2:00 to 5:00 pm) as well as renting wine storage.
Luxe digs in the heart of the city harbor some of the best bites and cocktails in the crunch of Belltown.Don't miss the main courses which favor comfort food of the PacNW or the divine cocktails which are the perfect start to an evening out .
The English ales, fine whiskey and comfortable seats in this cozy tavern make me turn down Post Alley when I want a little respite at the market.
The challenge at Twist isn't finding a cocktail you want but choosing just 1-2 of the delightful signature and classic cocktails. Happy hour all night Sunday and 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Mon - Sat.
Beautiful jewel box of a tasting room on distillers row. Take the tour and do not miss the aged whiskey. On second thought--skip it and that will leave more for me.
I loved the first Joule and I love this sleek new Tiffany blue & navy room even more. Outstanding food & cocktails, attentive service, lots of seating options including a communal table and an outdoor fire pit paired with the warm hospitality of chef/owners Seif and Rachel will keep you coming back for more.
This Irish pub has it all, friendly service, fine fare, a good looking room and an extensive selection (they claim the largest on the West coast) of, you guessed it, Irish Whiskeys.
Keep your eyes peeled or you'll pass right by this cozy den which pays homage to the cocktail. It's a good idea to peruse the seasonal cocktail list which currently pimps beauties such as the gin based Cup Of Awesome.
Ready for a leisurely and luxurious meal or just up for a cocktail? This is your spot. Put yourself in the hands of the chef or the barkeep at this lower QA/Fremont gem and you'll be glad you did!
One of the first to make an aged Washington State whiskey since prohibition, Woodinville offers both an excellent rye and bourbon as well as 'age your own' barrel kits. Their stills also happen to be some of the most beautiful in Washington state.
It's a restaurant. It's a bar. It's great for lunch and even better for happy hour when a ten spot gets you a manhattan and a generous bowl of foie popcorn.
Great falafel, croque monsieur and cocktails plus their '20 buck schuck' means you can get 12 bivalves Sun - Thu for yep, $20. The large bar and outdoor patio are perfect places to meet friends for happy hour or dinner.
Jason (chef/proprietor) and I first bonded over performance art and Grace Jones but the relationship has sustained because he and his team offer up first rate food and cocktails in a comfy and arty environment that feeds the soul. Don't miss the signature Artusi cocktail which looks as good as it tastes.
Love. This. Room. Come for happy hour, live jazz, magic, silent reading or any of the other delightful things that happen in this this velvet cocoon. Consider yourself lucky if you score the wingbacks at the fireplace!
Chicago gangster themed watering hole on the hill with fine staff bartenders and special guest barkeeps now and again. Don't miss TG Tuesday, Whisky Wednesday, Flight Club Friday or the bloody valentine and their specialty bourbon jam cocktail any day of the week. Great old school dart board is a plus.
Oola makes small batch gin, vodka and bourbon whiskey (my favorite) in the heart of the hill. The well appointed tasting room and adjacent patio is used for release parties but can also be rented for private events.
Good floral, wine, liquor, cheese and seafood departments. Also check out their housemade soups and guacamole.
It's not every barkeep that can respond "certainly" to a request for a pigs head and a showgirl but that's the kind of place Radiator set out to be. This dark cozy room seats just 48 lucky patrons but boasts over 100 whiskies including a house moonshine that clocks in at 100 proof. The focus at Radiator is on warm service and inventive whiskey cocktails paired with market pub food that features smoked meats.
Don't miss the 'library of flasks.'
