Rowdy Portland venues in NE, N, or Chinatown (or on Burnside) where you can find local bands and cheap PBR. Some places don't even charge cover!
Patrons spend as much time on their coiffed hair and leather as they spend watching a show because, why the hell not?
Someone you know has played here. Nab a $6 pitcher of PBR for the band. After the show, solo dance to the house music. Welcome to Portland.
While everyone rushes for a beer between sets, you may be handed a Rainier out of a cooler, before finishing a game of Buck Hunter.
The DJs spin vinyl, the beers are cheap & if they should charge cover, its for the added entertainment from the bouncer/riff-raff battle.
Gallery and coffee shop by day, and bar by night. Many 18+ shows and events bring a vibrant and youthful crowd through its doors.
Avoid coming right from Salt & Straw to a show here, it's sure to make you "not punk enough" for this venue. The crowd is inviting otherwise.
The covered patio out back is the best place on Alberta to grab a brew. Mostly organic and local, the fare is ahead of the pack.
They had me at homemade buns, and now I lie in bed every night thinking about them. The massive patio is a stellar spot for people watching.
With a Skee ball in one hand and a pierogi in the other, catch a band pretty much any night of the week, just don't forget your ear plugs.
