Once a no-man's land, downtown Houston has developed pockets of great restaurants and hang outs. From Discovery Green to the Pavilions, downtown has a lot to offer now.
Love this place, awesome draft list! The food is okay but it works for barren downtown.
If you want to have one of the most interesting meals of your life, check this place out. I've never experienced food like at Oxheart. Slow, thoughtful food. Tasting menus are excellent for getting to try a little bit of everything. The signature dish, Ox heart, was melt-in-your-mouth fantastic. The interior is tiny, charming and intimate. They even let me pick out a record to play (Cat Stevens!). BYOB and have an expertly curated beer/wine list; Justin, the resident wine/beer expert, can definitely help you pick something to go with the menu of the day. The voyeuristic open kitchen is a nice touch- watching a small army of super talented chefs prepare all of your dishes right in front of you is quite an experience. I really can't wait to get back here!
