Whether you have a random Tuesday off or need places to send visitors, here's where to have brunch during the week. Bonus: no lines!
Always crowded on the weekends, you should be able to easily get in during the week. Try the cornmeal pancakes.
Fantastic brunch spot - try the lemon pancakes or chilaquiles.
Great vegan dishes - the milkshakes are to die for and the buffalo wings are nice and spicy.
Fantastic breakfast spot - vanilla bean waffles, whole wheat oatmeal pancakes, and steel cut oatmeal are all great.
The Chicago-style tofu sandwich and biscuits and gravy are favorites. Great for both vegans and omnivores.
A favorite spot for brunch or lunch. The Cuban sandwich is made with brisket and giardiniera and the cupcake pancakes are a signature.
It's always a debate between sweet and savory here, with the fight coming down to sassy eggs or Emily's dream pancakes. Solution: bring someone and share both.
There are several locations to visit for solid renditions of breakfast favorites, like frittatas and pancakes.
The cocktail menu is enormous, but you can just point and pick at random—every single one is going to be good. Also awesome: the brunch menu, fried cheese curds, an abundant cheese plate... I could keep going.
Cozy spot to settle in with a sandwich, croissant, or other baked treat.
Upscale Italian... or, pizza at the bar? If you go for happy hour, you'll get a free pie with the purchase of a drink, and the sausage-fennel pizza is worth the trip.
The Green Eggs and Ham, with grits, tasso ham, avocado, baked eggs, and cotija cheese is a delicious way to start the day. The coconut cake is also worth a visit too!
Two words: bacon flight.
Wild boar sloppy joes, warm cheese gougeres, whiskey-based cocktails–Longman & Eagle is exactly where you want to be on a cold Chicago night.
The cinnamon bun is a must order!
Go for the fabulous burger, stay for the fabulous cocktails. I also love the brunch and bar snacks.
Burgers for breakfast? Sure - just top a patty with an egg and you're good to go. You can also get an egg, sausage, or bacon sandwich. Plus, get sausages and other meats to go.
Great breakfast spot in Logan Square. The malted custard French toast is a cult favorite, and I like the daily waffle offerings.
The dining room is beautiful and the cocktails are pretty (and tasty) as well.
