Winter, spring summer or fall...there truly is a beer for all seasons. So there's really never an excuse not to belly up, have a pint pulled from your favorite tap and celebrate this golden nectar of the gods.
Maybe you've seen their beers in stores or being served up by owners Charles and Rose Ann Finkel at various events around town, but if you haven't made your way to their flagship digs in Pike Place Market you're missing out. A dizzyingly array of well crafted beers (like the popular 'Naughty Nellie') with tasty pub fare to match keeps this place 'hopping' 7 days (and nights) a week.
Grab a corner table and settle in with a cold pint while you wait for your friends. Great happy hour prices and the kitchen knocks out some pretty impressive dishes as well. And if you need to get rid of that gum you've been chewing on - Seattle's famous 'gum wall' is right out the door and just two steps away.
If you're a hardcore soccer fan (or just enjoy a nice cold 20 oz. pint) this is the place for you. When soccer is not on the screens surrounding this good ol' English pub there are plenty of other flights of fancy to keep you occupied - like free pool Monday.
If you like a little film noir with your beer - Naked City delivers. This popular neighborhood joint serves up pints from the more than 25 taps that line the bar. Not just for "noir heads" though, Naked City is a major destination to catch all the major sporting events while hoisting back a brew. Great beer and a great hangout.
When the sun is out, get there right when the doors open for happy hour and head to the back patio for a beer and a view of the Needle. When it's dark and rainy, hunker down inside and take the chill off with some comfort food (like the baked Mac & Cheese) and two fingers of Knob Creek.
Sit at the tasting room bar and make your way through their year-round beers (don't worry, they offer samplers) or grab a pint of your favorite brew and head outside to the patio. If you're still thirsty, grab a growler or a keg-to-go on your way out because Big Al's knows beer.
The name says it all...Epic. The last time I stopped by, the good folks at Epic Ales were pulling some newly created brews for happy hour and serving up freshly smoked oysters at the bar. Inventive beer with food to match makes this SODO joint hop.
