Unique venues to get a fancy cocktail
The Association is a speakeasy-like bar in a rather non-discreet location in DTLA. It's more of a place to bring a date or a group of intimate friends. Sometimes they'll have a live jazz band but it's all about the atmosphere here: dark and sultry. Speciality drinks are aplenty.
Swanky rooftop bar that overlooks Pershing Square. Great date night place. Pricey cocktails but well worth it for the view and fairy tale-esque atmosphere. Lines are out the door on weekends so choose an off-time to pay your visits.
Finally, a craft beer and cocktail bar in the SGV. Spirit Bar is a lounge located on the 2nd floor of the Lincoln Hotel. Chef Johnny Lee is behind the toque with original creations like panang curry fries and lotus root chips. As for the drinks, try the White Noise -- a Calipico-infused cocktail with Yuzu sake.
Boba 7, also known as "Labobatory" is an alcoholic speakeasy located in the back of Soi 7. Elton Keung is owner and behind the bar whipping up epic concoctions like green tea Heineken and other alcoholic boba creations. Most of the drinks are made with soju and Calpico.
