Although these restaurants rock some of the best pizza in town, don't stereotype them by their pies. These chefs can cook pesce, pasta, risotto and carne like champs.
Part of the reason I love my new 'hood is because of the gems of restaurants in the vicinity. Pizza Rustica is family-owned (the husband/wife chef/manager team is awesome) and their "large" pizza is actually the size of a HUGE pizza sheet - it's kind of like two pizzas in one. This is an Italian gem that locals and non-locals should rush to.
Most authentic, most delicious, Neopolitan-style 'za in the city. Hands down.
Instead of greasy, humongous, Chicago-style pizza, grab a nice crisp light Neopolitan slice w a glass of their $5 wine of the week. Mangia!
Piece puts non-Chicago pizza to shame. It is the bomb dot com, it would make a New Yorker proud and you can choose from the most ridiculous toppings. Live band karaoke on Saturday doesn't hurt either.
Do. Not. Miss. The. Truffle. Pizza. Or the Italian beer. This is Neopolitan at its finest.
