LA is quickly becoming the new Silicon Valley! With lots of Venture Capital firms, incubators, and accelerators in the area, having a start-up is the new "I'm an actor". So where do these start-up scenesters hang out? Lots of them were spotted in the following places (and I should know, I work for a start-up!).
Fancy food without the snooty atmosphere. Very laid back and dressy-casual which blends in nicely with the Venice backdrop. Great for dinner or lunch meetings for the start ups and accelerators in the area.
Located right by my office, this place is perfect for when I get back to work on a Monday with a totally ruined liver from the weekend. Great way to sneak in my veggies without sacrificing flavor!
Lounges and restaurant hybrid that's perfect for events. Great happy hour menu that won't totally tape you wallet.
Great beach side cocktail or brunch spot but also fabulous for events and birthdays. I sometimes wish I didn't live in LA so I'd have a reason to shack up here for the night!
Awesome happy hour specials and one of the best quality sushi spots in Santa Monica that won't rape your wallet. Located lots of LA's best start up companies too so you can mingle with a entrepreneurial and techie crowd.
Wow, there needs to be more joints like this. Free wifi, great food, friendly atmosphere, and non touristy for Hollywood blvd.
Hands, feet, and paws down my favorite lounge/bar in the LA area. Relaxing, cozy, and gorgeous. If only it wasn't so popular, the lines to get in are insane on weekends so I suggest going on a weekday so you'll get guaranteed entry.
My very favorite Santa Monica comfort food fix! Gluten free mac n cheese that I didn't even know was gluten free!!! Mind. Blown.
Came here "just for cocktails" but maybe it was the gorgeous view or the smell of their delicious flat breads that forced me to order. Try to snag a seat next to the window to fully enjoy the great location.
Gorgeous start-up hub with the perfect work environment for any start-up. They're also very accommodating for large events and big crowds without making it too cluttered. Walking distance from the beach doesn't hurt either!
