It seems there is an art supply shop on ever corner in NYC. But these places are the most special ones. Trust me, I've been around the art supply shop block one too many times.
I love this place! I could stay here for hours... and so could you. Whether you're looking for the most obscure color Cray Pas or a badger-hair 3-inch sash paintbrush... this is your place!
If there were a gold medal for "Most modest art supply store" this would be the winner! This is the place to go if you're just starting out in whatever crafty endeavor you are venturing into. They've got it all... but not so much to make your head spin.
Other than the most magical, friendly, affectionate cat sitting at the counter, this place is perfect for all your sculpting supplies. The staff is super sweet too... which is rare at an art supply shop.
This is the perfect place for the art student. The staff is incredibly helpful with finding you the right materials for whatever masterpiece you are working on. Plus, this was voted Best art supply shop by The Village Voice in 2012. Cool, eh?
It's easy to get lost in the shuffle as a NYC artist. But the folks here make you feel nothing shy of Basquiat. Plus, their inventory rocks!
Who would have thought a store that carried art supplies, scented candles AND officer furniture would be so successful in NYC? Sam Flax, that's who!
Purchasing art supplies here makes one feel as if they have really made it as a NYC artist. Something about buying acrylics in Soho does something for the soul.
This place is awesome! They have everything you could ever ask for when it comes to being crafty. They even have finger paints for your little ones!
I think this place was one of the reasons I moved to NYC. If you fancy yourself any kind of artist, then it would be criminal if you have yet to step foot in here.
