Sure its hotter than mid summer in the middle of winter, especially in Houston, but there are those days that a good bowl of soup is the only thing to hit that spot. Caldo de res translates to Soup of beef in english, or at least thats what it is. The soup usually consists of beef (obviously) carrots, different varities of squash, carrots, corn and potatoes, usually served with a side of rice and tortillas, I mean really, I'm craving a bowl already. Mexican comfort foods at its finest, huevos rancheros, tacos de barbacoa, carne guisada and menudo these are probably the top hangover foods I've ever encountered. So soup it up when you can Houston, because when it's in the 60's you can bet your bottom dollar it will be in the 90's by tomorrow.
