With over a dozen restaurants, bakeries & dessert shops in Little Tokyo alone, it's hard to decide where to eat. Use this guide to help make that decision easier, while making sure not to break the bank.
Ever had mochi + gelato (AKA mochilato)? If you haven't, stop by Mikawaya and try it out today! My favorite flavors are strawberry, green tea and chocolate hazelnut. And be sure to buy their homemade mochi too!
An assortment of freshly baked breads and sweets, Yamazaki is one of my favorite stops for cream puffs, curry puffs and more!
Want to sample Japanese street foods? Come to Mitsuru Cafe for their freshly made takoyaki and red bean wheel pies!
With a variety of ramen flavors, curries, rice bowls & appetizers, the mapo ramen and gyoza are tasty, filling & leave you wanting more!
Sushi served via a conveyor belt? Yes, you heard right! LA has plenty of revolving sushi restaurants & they're so much fun. Just pick and choose what you think looks good-it's that simple!
Love cooking your own foods? Then Shabu Shabu is the place for you. Identical to hot pot, you choose which meats and veggies go into your broth & the dipping sauces. Be prepared to wait on the weekends!
In addition to serving a variety of Japanese fare, Las Galas also serves American cuisine such as sandwiches and burgers for those whom may not be craving ethnic cuisine. Their salmon bento box is wonderful!
For delicious Japanese fare that'll leave your tummy and your wallet happy, try Sushi & Teri's bento specials! Lots of food, little money and tasty!
Named as one of the BEST ramen spots in the US, expect to wait 2+ hours at times (totally worth it!). The famous tonkotsu ramen is mouthwatering, as is the shredded rice pork bowl. You really can't go wrong with the ramen+rice combo here-best deal in the city!
Donuts+coffee=heaven! What could possibly be wrong with combining those two together! With more donuts and baked goods than you can imagine, the must try items here are the bacon and fruity pebble donut holes, green tea roti & cappuccino!
Come during lunch and take advantage of Wakasaya's lunch specials-one of the best deals you'll find at Little Tokyo! I love the kitsune udon & seared fatty salmon rice bowl combo!
'Lette specials in one thing and one thing only: MACARONS. You better bet they're perfection if there is such a thing! The best flavors are the wedding dress, early grey tea, pineapple & bananas foster!
Hakata Ramen is yet another widely popular ramen spot in Little Tokyo-whether you go for lunch or dinner, there's always a wait! The yaki ramen is one of my favorites & I'd highly recommend it!
