After high school and college, meeting new people can be hard. And online dating is limited to, well, dating! If you need to start replacing your fake Facebook friends (that you only hear from on your birthday) with some REAL friends, you'll find a friendly crowd at these LA hot spots.
Best venue for top quality stand up shows and live podcast tapings. Also one of only places I know where I can hug a giant Han Solo cut out.
One of LA's gems. Perfect for when I want to get my thighs in shape but still bring my dog along.
One of my favorite LA boutique hotels with a cozy Moroccan inspired pool complete with pool boys that match the decor!
Although it may have a hipster reputation, it IS actually one of LA's cooler, slightly smaller music venues. A great place to discover up-and-coming bands that you might see at Coachella in a few years.
Great live music bar where you can actually have conversations with your friends (not deafening loud like other music venues). Great bar tenders too and I've never had to pay cover charge here either.
A cool bar at the top of the historic Sunset Tower Hotel. Classy feel and ambiance with a live Jazz duo on most nights.
Awesome decor and fantastic sound system that attracts some of the hottest musicians in the city. Very sultry and sexy vibe that will impress anyone.
Great cosy music spot and awesome sound system. If I ever dared to sing in public, I'd do it here cause they'd probably manage to make me sound tolerable. Perfect for discovering new music talent that'll make it big soon.
Actually decent music (rare in the hipster world) and cool vibe. Considering that it used to be a tranny lounge, I must say its gotten quite a make-over. Love the artwork they display.
Cute and cozy little Venice food stop with pretzel bread sandwiches that'll make anyone ditch their carb-conscious diet!
Cool little downtown venue that has some pretty awesome and FREE stand up comedy shows!
Perfect for a first date (as you don't feel pressured to have a full sit-down dinner). Impressive wine selection and all within affordable prices. Easy and cheap parking too, which is rarer than modestly priced vintage wines!
Hands, feet, and paws down my favorite lounge/bar in the LA area. Relaxing, cozy, and gorgeous. If only it wasn't so popular, the lines to get in are insane on weekends so I suggest going on a weekday so you'll get guaranteed entry.
This great bar sits atop an old art deco building. Great French-inspired bistro with breathtaking views of downtown LA. They often have live music during the summer months.
