Los Angelinos love a great meal, even if it is super casual. Glossy "who's who" restaurants are great but sometimes, your favorite place isn't owned by SBE or jam packed for weekend brunch. These are some of native favorites in LA to grab a bite.
Great place for veggies. They will sub coconut milk from cream for lactose intolerant and vegans! Very good.
Al Gelato is a Beverly Hills favorite. I love their tomato sauce. Before I was a vegetarian I used to always order their giant meatball or gnocchi...and apple pie. Needless to say, the gelato is superb.
Don't judge this place from the strip mall location. It is actually a great neighborhood sushi restaurant. Must try their tempura-fried or mochi ice cream.
Love the Eggplant Parmesan and imported foods. Always busy at lunch and on weekends. Angelinos become pushy New Yorkers here.
Dark ambiance, very fun. Cucumber margaritas are so good.
A local favorite for sandwiches, sides and their humongous cupcakes. This is the perfect place to stop before heading down to the beach. On weekends it is pretty packed.
Yummy flavor fusions. You get 2 scoops for only $2.50.
Pizza, falafel, salads...all kosher! Meat is on the other side of the restaurant.
Let the cheesemonger pick the plate. Each Thursday there is a new menu. Great place for a date.
Talk about a hole in the wall! This is basically a window! It's definitely a grab and go place. Lots of fried food, even a PB&J sandwich.
