Entertainment of all sorts, music, theater and movies are merely enhanced with a glass of wine or a much beloved microbrew. At least that's my philosophy. So when I discovered all the historical theaters (and 2 modern that have clearly learned from their elders) around Portland that uphold my entertainment, enjoyment philosophy by serving wine, beer and even spirits - I was smitten. Not only can you enjoy an adult beverage at these theaters, the theaters are works of art with ornate architectural design elements that just aren't duplicated anymore. Another fabulous note about these theaters, most ticket prices are well below the sticker shock pricing of the corporate theaters. Cheers!
Love this theater and the $3 buck shows! It's the same Mcmennemen's food as the rest, pizza, burger and hummus plate. Grab a glass of Black Rabbit wine or a Ruby, sit back and enjoy the show. Look at their online calendar for monthly events including Miss Kitty's Parlour Show - which is a variety show not to be missed for laughs, entertainment and something unique.
The movie theater is a fantastic find. Couches fill the theater and hits fill the screen for $3! The soft pretzels, pizza and hot dogs rule as the best movie munches! Beer, wine, juice & soft quench your thirst. Great in theater service. Check schedules for mommy & me matinees and scheduling.
Classics, documentaries and indie films are what you'll find splashed across this marquee. Affordable concessions, microbrews & comfortable seats are what you'll find inside this theater.
$3 buck tickets, and Tuesdays are only $2 with kids $1! A great place to sit back with a slice of pizza and a glass of Black Rabbit Red and enjoy a movie with or without the kids. After the movie go for a walk and enjoy the shops on Hawthorne. An entertaining afternoon or evening.
Another comfortable and inexpensive movie house in Portland that serves microwbrews, wine and pizza! Clean, friendly and highly recommended.
Current releases as well as indie and foreign films take to the screen here. Enjoy a meal & drinks in their lounge area and order another drink for the movie. The prices, across the board, are competitive and the food is very good.
If you don't have time for dinner AND a movie, combine the two here. New, clean, comfortable and spendy BUT they are always running deals through the on-line coupon platforms like groupon. Sit back comfortably, sip, nosh and be entertained.
Beautifully restored theater with interesting movie line-ups and monthly series like 70's Polyester Pulp Fiction movies. Beer, wine and munchies can be bought at very reasonable prices. Seats are comfortable and the the theater is very clean.
Noted as the longest continuous showing, 35 years, of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, the Clinton Street Theater is one of the oldest operation movie houses in the country. It hosts a variety of indie and 35 mm movies as well as private and community events. The theater has recently been bought and updated.
