Houston is not lacking for outdoor dining - it's just sometimes, it's way too hot to actually enjoy it. But now that it's actually fall, you can finally hit those outdoor patios and enjoy being under the sun. Here are some of our favorite spots to do so.
A Houston institution, this original manages a down-home, friendly vibe. The homemade chips with queso are a must. So are the margaritas.
Get a spot on the back patio if you can - it offers the best seats in the house at this upscale restaurant. And dogs are allowed!
You'll find everyone on the huge outside patio on nice nights. Though the inside has a good atmosphere, too. Good happy hour spot.
Bring your dog to the pet-friendly outdoor patio, or head indoors for a meal or a nightcap. For great Downtown views, head to the roof.
The food isn't anything special, but the atmosphere will keep you coming back. And though it may look crowded, there's plenty of seating.

Don't bring the health-conscious. This restaurant serves up fried Southern specialties. Perfect after a night at nearby Fitzgerald's.
