Portland is a hotbed for amazing music. Check out the music calendars at these places. The venues are all small, the musicians are amazing and there's not a bad seat in the house!
Live Irish Music every day of the week! Traditional Irish dancers the first Saturday of every month. Love a good cigar with that Guinness - head downstairs to the cigar bar.
Always live music here. A casual, inexpensive and fun bar to chill out with friends.
A fun, casual, affordable, friendly venue to hear music on an almost nightly basis. If you go, you can't miss out on the roasted turkey sandwich! The grilled cheese was tasty too. Cozy venue. If you want a seat get there early otherwise standing room only but worth it!
A great music / event space. The main floor is open for optimal show capacity, grab a drink and head upstairs to snag a seat on the couch in the loft space that over looks the stage.
Sporting games during the day and dancing night. Quality live music throughout the weekends, tasty food that raises the bar on " bar food" and great service. My favs: the blueberry lemon drop ( it's not too sweet) and the soft pretzel.
Although upon entering this place looks a bit questionable it really is a great space to hear and see live bands. With a pool table, pinball machine and a jukebox to occupy you before the bands play its a great place to hang out, enjoy a drink and catch up with friends. Bonus: Koi Fusion usually has their truck on the corner in the evening and they have plans to open a permenant space on that same corner. Perfectly located to run out between bands and grab a tasty pork burrito!
Al's Den is a cozy space below Zeus Cafe that offers live music or comedy shows nightly and most of the time for free. Pizza & salads & other small bites can be ordered here.
