It's news to no one that Chicago's bar food has (thankfully) graduated from grease bomb to culinary delight. Still, though, not all pub grub is created equal: Here are some good bets.
Beer geeks and foodies come in droves for the Belgian goodies at this giant bar/resto. Ask you server for a beer rec and try the mussels.
Soccer fan? Watch the match here. Beer geek? Get your fill of hard-to-find craft brews. Foodie? Meet the most ambitious bar food in town.
Go for the rib-sticking Southern fare during the week (the mac & cheese is legendary) and for the busy bar action on weekends. The open-air summer scene is especially nice.
The cool decor alone is a draw, but the veggie-friendly menu of sandwiches, pizzas, etc goes way beyond normal bar bites. The PBR & burger special is a steal.
Bumpin' hot spot needs no endorsement, but...it rules. $7 'ritas could sell for twice that, tacos & guac r sheer bliss. Fab people-watching!
A stellar spot to watch the game (go upstairs for the projection screen) or drink al fresco. Come hungry because the food is both creative (kangaroo pops up on the menu) and tasty.
Bartenders are genius (and fun!) & can concoct potions tailored to your tastes. Plan to eat here & stick around for free cookies @ midnight!
The food here is almost too culinarily highbrow for bar grub, but I'm not complaining! Also a superb pick for watching WI Badger games (go Bucky!).
So refreshing: A Bar where the focus is on beer (brewed on site!) & not flatscreens. Try the Bottom Up Wit. Food's delish too- great burger!
Shockingly awesome bar food, from the fancy popcorn to juicy burger & boozy Italian ice. Beer menu is top-notch, as is service. Lovely patio
