The Tortas and Tacos That Make Sunset Park Special

Humble and remote, but worth a long trip: that's the way fans of this bakery and grill think of Las Rosas, which they come to for tortas, tacos, and an especially great steak sandwich.

It's hard to resist a taqueria this good that offers "super tacos" but go ahead and try the regular ones first. Paradoxically, they're twice as good -- especially the carnitas one.

This truck never moves, as far as I can tell, and is rare in producing not only some of the city's best tacos, but also a burrito on par with San Francisco's best.

Nearly every taco here is pitch-perfect, especially the pork ones that too frequently are dried out elsewhere.
