All the coolest place on Passyunk Avenue in South Philly, conveniently organized for your internet pleasure!
Marra's is the Italian restaurant your parents would love, and they probably already do. An institution on Passyunk Ave, Marra's is known for traditional Italian dining. It's an ideal spot for getting together your whole clan, breaking open a bottle of wine, and going into a pasta coma.
Cantina Los Caballitos is commonly understood as THE place to go for margaritas on Saturday nights, but the place really shines during the week, when the crowds stay home. Since starting outside seating a couple years back, they have made the corner of Passyunk and Morris their own, adding flower boxes and colored lights. Grab a happy hour drink or some brunch, and remember you can never go wrong with chicken tacos.
Birra classes up the block with craft beer and fancy pizza. Check it out at happy hour, grab a small plain pizza and Lionshead on the cheap!
Izumi is simply delicious sushi, done with care and served with style. Though a bit pricier than many of the delivery sushi places in South Philly, it's a wonderful dinner spot on a quiet evening. Bring a bottle of wine and be sure to try the special rolls, among the other awesome entrees. Great for a date, ideal for an anniversary. Be sure to try the Remy Roll!
Excellent beer selection, cozy and dark inside, plus outside seating to boot! The legit jukebox has an epic selection, and the food is always solid. Grab a chicken sandwich and a Bell's Oberon, and you can't go wrong!
Capogiro is pretty much the requisite stop on a pleasant summer night, or at the end of a good first date. The gelato is smooth and creamy, and the flavor selection is always excellently varied. Tuck out back into the secret garden area, where you can forget for a moment you're at a restaurant, not sitting in your own backyard. You always get at least two scoops, so be sure to mix your flavors!
Fresh local food and a friendly atmosphere are the highlight of this deli spot. Beyond a bevy of delicately made and delicious sandwiches, Plenty also boasts a host of sides, plus all manner of smaller brand soda and yogurt treats. Try the "Grab & Go" dinner, two sides and a main course, it's a solid meal any day.
Stateside is a new addition to Passyunk Ave, but a welcome one. It's unique interior design is the first thing you notice, not to mention the expansive windows they leave open in good weather. The menu is heavy on appetizers, and really serves more as a compliment to the well made cocktails. Great for an after work drink with a friend.
