Lots of restaurants have oysters and ceviche - only a select few put the time and money into creating huge towers of seafood. If you're looking for a huge splurge and you love fishies and mollusks, these are the restaurants for you.
I love Russian Tea Time. Ok, it's a little old-fashioned and gilded, and the menu isn't particularly trendy. But it's got a great vodka selection and a smoked fish platter for two that can't be beat, covered with herring, salmon, caviar, blini and traditional fixins.
It just keeps getting better. If you want beer, pork or seafood, this is the spot. The "Grand Seafood Collection" feeds 4-6 people and costs $120 - make sure to order in advance.
The flagship restaurant of the Waldorf, and one of the best brunches around. There's a whole half-lobster on top of this seafood tower, plus shrimp, oysters, mussels and everything else you could want.
Henri is your best fine dining option in or near the loop. This restaurant is for a special occasion - put on your fancy dress, order a cocktail in a long-stemmed glass and chose from a menu of classic french-inspired dishes. The "Crown Tower of Seafood" includes oysters, mussels, ceviche, lobster, crab and squid for $130. The smoked steak tartare is awesome.
Wonderful French food in a dark, romantic setting. The tower of seafood is particularly decadent, and includes dozens of oysters, mussels and shrimp.
