You can't take him to a fratty joint, and odds are good he's not jonesing to hit the clubs. Belly up with Pops at these Dad-friendly bars.
The best pool hall I know of. Plenty of space. Beer selection is decent and the crowd is usually pretty low-key.
The best darn sports bar I know of in the downtown vicinity. Food's solid too- try a burger.
Soccer fan? Catch your match here! Beer fan? They've got your draught pick. Trivia fan? Yep, that's here too.
The quintessential Chicago jazz spot remains virtually unchanged from its early days. A very, very mixed crowd fills the room. You'll pay an admission charge, but drinks are inexpensive.
I dig their trivia night here. The large pack patio is a draw in summer and the draft beer selection is decent.
My favorite "slashie" in the city! On the bar side, live tunes and no-nonsense bartenders. On the liquor store front, there's a seriously comprehensive craft beer selection.
A classic pub with a storied history. Nice vibe, wide selection of draft beer, and tasty French fries.
Fabulous craft beer list, but the real draw is the gorgeous, sprawling rooftop bar. Great grub to snack on too (try the monkey bread).
There's so much to love here that I don't know where to start! Friendly bartenders, a cute courtyard & Tues trivia night are just a few reasons why I'm a regular.
A perfect neighborhood joint w/ a lovely beer garden, decent pub grub, an ample draft list, and super-friendly staff. Come here to watch the game & try the fish & chips!
Bikers, yuppies & otherwise all have reason to love TS. Examples: One of the best beer lists around, rooftop seating, & great, greasy grub.
So refreshing that PP's doesn't give a livk about trendy/organic/etc. instead, it's all about tasty oysters washed down w/ a pint of Stella.
