Food is decent, though portions are small; I like First Crush for the wine list and the cozy, date-friendly atmosphere.
Quinta Nova CLA Porto, Special Reserve: I know you wouldn't think to look to a phenomenal Indian restaurant for great port, but go there and try it! Even pairs nicely with some of the sweeter dishes on the menu...
Cozy atmosphere, good wines, and sexy, delicious comfort food make Maverick a solid go-to any day of the week. The co-owner/beverage director is enthusiastic and conversational, so striking up a conversation may lead to some interesting tastes...
Classic, comforting 'mom foods' like pork chops and roast chicken are executed to perfection alongside innovative plays on seasonal produce; creative mixology and damn good wine only make things that much better. Nopa's atmosphere is warm and lively, while their staff is knowledgeable and even warmer. Best yet for you night-owls, they're open till 2am!
Their dark chocolate sorbet is incredible!!! Great on its own or a killer base under a scoop of something else. And believe it or not, it's vegan!!!
It can get crowded during the dinner rush, but for good reason: everything on the menu is DELICIOUS, and that includes the drinks. You can go with a classic Mexican dish like chicken enchiladas with mole poblano, or opt for something more contemporary, like pork belly tacos. As with its sister restaurant, NOPA, you can't really go wrong at Nopalito. And save room for a house-made popsicle on your way out!
With a spirit that is decidedly Italian, Bar Bocce brings together three wonderfully relaxing, pleasant experiences: outdoor dining on the water, a rustic Italian menu, and sandy, seaside Bocce Ball! The pizzas are tasty and imaginative, made to near-perfection in traditional Napolitano style; order one and enjoy it at a leisurely pace with a bottle of Italian red, perhaps beside the outdoor fire pit!
