Lake City isn't a popular Seattle food destination like Cap Hill or Ballard. But if you find yourself in the area with a need to nosh, there are some tasty - and reasonably priced - meals and treats to be had. Grab a lunch special at the unassuming but delicious Chiang's Gourmet, pick up some pastries at Kaffeklatsch, fill up with a veggie calzone from Pagliacci for under $10, check out the Happy Hour at El Norte, and of course, there's always Dick's.
My pick at Pagliacci: the delicious Verde Primo with artichoke hearts, mushrooms, pesto, goat cheese, garlic and mozzarella. Solid!
I was lucky to go w/2 Chinese food experts who picked the best of the best. My faves: sauteed shrimp (vinegary & addictive) & fish with noodle (total comfort casserole-type fare).
Happy hour everyday and all night on Sundays.
Tasty German pastries and a nice spot to relax with a cup of coffee.
