Sure, it's chichi. But charming Old Town is worth a stroll through every now and again. Here are some of my favorite stops.
What a breath of fresh air in chichi Old Town! Delightfully divey and open til 4am (5am on Sat!).
It's tough to top the hand-shaken margs here. Food-wise, the usual suspects (tacos, guac) are your best bets. A fun scene for sure!
Comedic history is made here. Grab a seat and watch the future SNL stars at work. Also awesome improv classes for budding Bill Murray types.
The cream of the farmers market crop! Klug Farms rules the produce scene & Crumb is a bread-lover's dream.
A cute-as-a-button gift shop stocked w/ stationery, bath stuff, and fun trinkets. Lovely pick for wedding or baby announcements.
A nice place to sit for awhile with a cup of coffee and a scone...or a shortbread cookie...or a frosted-to-order cupcake...or a tart. Or heck, if you sit long enough, might as well order a sandwich (get it on the pretzel roll!).
Nothing about PV feels like a generic hotel resto. Everything is seasonal--and much of it comes from just across the street at Green City Market. A great special occasion spot. Wonderful cocktails.
A Lincoln Park-adjacent inn that draws locals for its dining and boozing options (rooftop bar? Oh yeah!). Check out the adorable coffee shop on the Clark Street side. Great spot for visiting fam to stay.
