Marcus Addison Cinemas
Write a review1555 West Lake Street, Addison, IL 60101 (map)
This 20-screen megaplex features good concessions and a recently-added IMAX theater. Probably the place to go for IMAX if you're looking to avoid the tourist crowds at Navy Pier.
-
Regal Lincolnshire Stadium 21 & Imax
Write a review300 Parkway Dr, Lincolnshire, IL 60069 (map)
It seats 270 and operates in either the 2-D or 3-D format. Plus there is a six-channel, high fidelity motion picture sound system and special Imax PSE (Personal Sound Environment) headsets.
-
Omnimax Theatre - Museum of Science & Industry

While smaller than the Navy Pier IMAX, the domed screen here surrounds viewers and immerses them in the film. Because of the location in the museum, the theater specializes in features about technology and industry's impact upon nature.

-
Music Box
Read Reviews3733 N Southport Ave, Chicago, IL 60613 (map)
This normally respectable movie palace shows cult flicks at midnight on the weekends.
-
Vic Theatre
Read Reviews3145 N Sheffield Ave, Chicago, IL 60657 (map)
Enjoy second-run screenings at the old Vic Theater. Cheap beer and cheap seats means the experience is heavy on audience-interaction (i.e., lots of shouting).
-
Village Art Theatre
Read Reviews1548 N. Clark St., Chicago, IL 60610 (map)
There's always a good crop of just-barely second run movies playing here, plus some good late-night oddities.
