    84 Fisherman's Wharf, Monterey, CA 93940 (map)

It's a bit out of town, but this Monterey company takes visitors out on daily whale-watching trips--something you can't get in SF. It's blue whale and humpback season, so bring your camera.

490 Jamestown Ave, San Francisco, CA 94124 (map)

While the season lasts through to winter, September and October are easily the most enjoyable months to catch the 49ers at their historic home. The area is notoriously windy, but it's pleasantly refreshing if the sun's scorching.

Pier 39 Dock J, San Francisco, CA 94133 (map)

The popular catamaran trips with this sailing company are often overlooked by locals, but the sweeping views of everything from the Golden Gate to the Bay Bridge are definitely worth the trip. The warm weather takes the usual chill off the Bay, meaning you may even be able to leave your jacket at home.

  4. 4 Great White Adventures

Test the limits of your Schwinn on a pedal from SF to Tiburon--it's a lovely ride for all skill levels if the weather's nice. Stop on the Golden Gate for the obligatory photo op and then continue on to this sun-soaked cafe to have a much-needed beer on the outdoor deck.
