FLAXSEED FLATBREAD: "I am a flaxseed addict and these little flaxseed flatbreads are the perfect starter to any meal. The cashew cream is a perfect consistency and gives the tomatoes and avocados a little extra umph! I could have eaten the whole plate; it's the kind of appetizer you order to share and then wish you hadn't." - Jamie Walker, I Like Granola

  2. 2 4.5 Star Rating: Recommended Amici's East Coast Pizzeria

VEGGIE PIZZA: "The cheese MELTS and they deliver! Need I say more? Okay, I will because I can't shut up about this stuff. It's insane. The Veggie pizza comes with roasted green peppers, sauteed mushrooms, caramelized onions and black olives and a good amount of ooey-gooey Cheezly brand vegan cheese melted all over it. It is divine. If you're more of a purist, it's delicious with just garlic and fresh basil or you can get super fancy with any of their million plus fancy ingredients. And if you're feeling especially fat and awesome, order extra cheese! It's the vegan holy grail, y'all. (FYI: Their gluten-free pizza dough isn't vegan--it contains eggs)." - Laura B., Vegansaurus

  3. 3 4.5 Star Rating: Recommended Cha-Ya Vegetarian Japanese

GARDEN ROLLS: "When it comes to veggie sushi you can often find a cucumber or avocado maki on the menu. Those are nice in their simplicity, but with hundreds of vegetables out there, it's nice to see some creativity. That's why I love the Garden Roll at Cha-Ya. Check it out: I've counted at least eight different fresh veggies in there. Be forewarned though, the rolls here are huge and it takes an extreme mastery of chopsticks to eat one politely. I prefer digging in with my bare hands." - Sharon Troy, Valencia Street Vegan

  4. 4 4 Star Rating: Recommended Soup Freaks

ROASTED TOMATO BASIL SOUP: "To fill a frugal belly, a 16oz cup from this local mini-chain is just about right, and they've always got two clearly marked vegan soup choices. The roasted tomato is not a heavy, creamy bisque but rather a hearty marinara-like soup with a strong basil flavor. My only complaint is the disproportionately small hunk of French bread (also vegan, and also available in wheat) that comes with such a colossally large tub of soup--but maybe I'm just being greedy." - Chelsea Lin, Citysearch

  5. 5 5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended Underdog

VEGAN KIELBASA: "Cheap, good vegan sausages right next to Golden Gate Park. The links are Tofurkey brand, grilled to perfection, and the mound of accompanying tater tots (baked instead of fried) are a perfect compliment to the dog." - Ethical Pizza
