Food Trucks in Houston

Childhood memories of popsicles from the roving ice cream man have trained us to think of food from a truck as an extra special treat. Houston has long had a battalion of destination taco trucks and now cupcake, pie and crepe purveyors are getting in on the act. Here's the lowdown on the newest food trucks to hit Houston.

Food Trucks in Houston

Oh My Pocket Pies

1005 St Emanuel St, Houston, TX 77003

Dividing time between its homebase in east downtown and 19th St. in the Heights, this eco-friendly food truck offers crispy handpies stuffed with chicken chile relleno, ground beef nestled with mushrooms and for dessert, s'mores pie.

Melange Creperie

403 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006

While Buffalo Sean's crepe business is not technically conducted out of a truck, it is done from a street stand so we'll count it. A growing number Montrose residents are making the spinach, cheddar and ajvar crepes their breakfast treat of choice (and taking a banana and Nutella crepe to go).

Cupcake Coach

Lamar St & la Branch St, Houston, TX 77010

Houston's third source for mobile cupcakes comes out of Clear Lake with traditional vanilla, chocolate and red velvet alongside rotating specials like Black Forest and lemon. The pink and green truck often hits downtown and major events but check @cupcakecoach on Twitter for its exact location.

Fusion Taco

Washington Ave & Durham Dr, Houston, TX 77007

Inspired by L.A.'s Kogi BBQ truck, Fusion Taco owner Julia Sharaby is hitting the streets with gourmet tacos like chicken satay with peanut sauce and slaw and short rib with tzatziki. Follow @fusiontaco on Twitter for location updates.

Hubcap Grill

1111 Prairie St, Houston, TX 77002

Even though this downtown burger destination occupies an honest-to-god building, complete with table and chairs, it closes around 3pm. Thankfully, owner Ricky Craig makes his eats more available by taking the show on the road Wed-Sat in his truck. Currently you can find it parked in front of Liberty Station 6pm-10pm.

MMM Cupcake

Dallas St & Milam St, Houston, TX 77002

Had enough cupcakes? Well, too bad the world is laughing at you. The MMM Cupcake truck has taken to the streets, often downtown or in Rice Village with it's own versions of chocolate, vanilla and more interestingly, banana and cinnamon roll. Get location updates via Twitter @MMMCupcakeTruck.
