This Amagansett classic hosts live music nightly all year round, but come summertime, hordes of young Manhattanites come in droves to binge drink and mingle in the outside space and back bar area--a rowdy, meet-market scene packed with sun-kissed prepsters ordering shots of Jack in bulk.
Recently ranked one of the top five beaches in America, this popular East Hampton beach is a short bike ride or walk from town (a residential permit is required to park).
Can't get out of town? Well, you can still fake it at this Long Island City summer favorite. It's a full-on beach party along the East River, with a bar, loud music and some of the best hamburgers around.
This brand-new rooftop oasis, located atop the Kimberly Hotel, is sophisticated without being pretentious. There's plenty of outdoor space (and a retractable roof), and though the sweeping views of midtown make it hard to forget you're still in the city, once you've seen New York like this, you'll be glad you stayed home for the weekend.
