Tons of educational programming from the Young Writer's Workshop to the Discovery Series make for super kid-friendly activities in Houston. If that doesn't entice, your kids can at least join all the others splashing in the fountains and tumbling down the grassy knolls.


Minute Maid Park

Taking Junior to a game is every dad's dream and there are lots of deals that make a trip to the ballpark an even more kid-friendly activity. Every Sunday in 2010, the lobby of Union Station turns into a fun zone and, for the rest of the summer, kids 14 and under get into games for free.


Memorial City Mall

Even when it's too hot outside for a trip to the park, kids can get in their playground time at this mall, complete with an old-fashioned carousel. Once there, the kids may start demanding cookie sandwiches but you want one too, don't you?


Houston Zoo

The zoo is an eternal favorite for tykes and Houston's comes complete with the paddle boat rides and ice cream purveyors of surrounding Hermann Park.


Angelika Film Center Houston

At the Angelika's ?cry baby matinees,? every Friday and Saturday at 11:45am, moms don't need to panic if the little one has a tantrum or needs to be fed. The volume is kept lower and children under five even get in free.


Laser Quest

Children's Museum of Houston
