Midtown Mile Bars

The stretch of Peachtree starting at North Avenue and stretching 14 blocks north to 15th Street is called Midtown Mile. And we think this mile-long stretch of our city's most iconic street is perfect for bar crawling. Join in the fun and check out these Midtown Mile bars (and one sushi restaurant disguised as a bar) that all boast a Peachtree Street address.

Midtown Mile Bars

654 Peachtree St, Atlanta, GA 30308

Located a few doors down from the Fox Theatre, Publik Draft House is a beer bar that caters to both the highbrow hops crowd and those trying to save coin. Drinkers find everything from Duvel to Old Milwaukee on the beer list, and prices range from $2 to $9. As for food, expect small nibbles, burgers and other modern pub fare.

Laughing Skull Lounge - Atlanta Comedy Club

878 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

Few things in life go better with drinking than laughing your ass off. Crammed in the back of the Vortex's Midtown location, the Laughing Skull Lounge typically boasts two shows a night, many of which are national headliners. Seeing a show in the tiny space (with a cash bar) feels a bit like watching a comic in your own living room.

Taco Mac Metropolis

933 Peachtree Street N.E., Atlanta, GA 30309

No crawl would be complete without a place to drink while watching sports. (You're welcome, dudes.) This Taco Mac location is the sports bar superhero of Atlanta: It's significantly nicer than most, boasts multiple flat screens and has the same lengthy beer list and reliable American-Mex menu as the other Macs around town.

RA Sushi

1080 Peachtree St, Atlanta, GA 30309

It looks like your typical flashy-but-safe Pan-Asian chain, but straddling Ra Sushi's indoor-outdoor seating area is a secondary bar that works as a drinking tractor beam on good-weather nights. You don't have to get a gimmicky saketini or a Nisho Naughty, but grab a beer or traditional cocktail and enjoy one of the best patios in Midtown.

1065 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

No bar crawl in Atlanta is complete without a drink in a glossy-chic hotel. Hotel bar Eleven does a signature Lavender Drop martini (lavender leaves, vodka, simple syrup) that's worthy of the atmosphere. We suggest swinging by on weekend nights, when jazz trios and singer-songwriters fill the lobby with live music.

Ri Ra Irish Pub

1080 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

Not be confused with neighboring Ra Sushi, Ri Ra is an Irish pub on the backside of the 1080 Peachtree building. While it's difficult to create a warm atmosphere in a mixed-use setting, Ri Ra triumphed by importing an entire bar from Ireland and reconstructing it in here. The charm only gets better after a pint or two.

Tap 1180

1180 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

TAP is one of Atlanta's first gastropubs, and it ushered in a new trend of street-side dining in Midtown. The vibe is part happy hour, part warm-up destination for the Alliance Theatre or High Museum. So snag a Numbers Ale (the bar's own brew), a cheeseburger on an English muffin and let the weekend (or weeknight) begin.
