One of the great things about Austin is that you never really know everything. Despite its small size, Austin is jam-packed full of things to do, food to eat, shows to see and nooks to explore. I've been here three years and feel I've only just started. In this list, find some of my frequented and favorite spots in town--so far.

One of the many perks of this job is hopping to a different coffeeshop each week. This one stuck with me. I kept coming back (along with several GRE prepbooks). I'm not sure if it was the coffee or the carrot cake, but I'm addicted to this place.
Two of my favorite things- tacos and tequila. I have managed to hit this place 3 times, get three different combinations of tacos, and have LOVED every bite I took. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited to try it a fourth time.
Opal Divine's has clean flavors and a ridiuclously huge menu - both food and drink. Speaking of the drinks, the Divine Apeach Lemonade is perfect for summer. The deck is awesome and surprisingly cool given typical Austin heat.
I avoid this place. I avoid it because I can drop $50 on books without batting an eye. Maybe it's because I'm such a huge nerd, or because the coffee is good, or because the staff recommendations are always worth reading, but this place eats my money like no other bookstore can.
Most people think I'm crazy, but this place is the reason I welcomed a 6 AM alarm on weekends this summer. There is no better reason to be up with the sun than to go riding. Vicki, owner and trainer, and her horses are more than worth the early mornings, gas money, and constant threat of heat stroke.
There is nothing super classy, super fun, or super amazing about this bar, but boy do I have some serious memories here! Birthday shots, farewell parties, live music, doing the Cupid Shuffle, playing pool, hogging breeze from that fan upstairs, or standing right under the air vent after an hour on the dance floor; you name it, my friends and I have done it here.
