Where to Find Models During New York Fashion Week

Models are a mysterious and elusive species. But come Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (Sept. 9-16, 2010), vast flocks of these flighty creatures will descend upon New York, and they will to have to stop and drink somewhere. If you stake out the right bars, you just may be able to catch a few unawares. Here's where to find models in New York City during Fashion Week. (Photo: Waiting for you at Le Bain)

New York Fashion Week Hot Spots

Le Bain

The Standard's indoor/outdoor rooftop club is a good place to catch a model even when it's not Fashion Week, and if you're lucky, one will have a few too many shots of Ciroc and get naked in the club's pool.

Don Hills

Once a legendary downtown fashion industry hangout--long before, even, the Misshapes parties--Don Hill's has been reopened by Nur Khan and Paul Sevigny. It's a guaranteed model magnet during Fashion Week and beyond.

Downtown fashion-types might think the Meatpacking District is cheesy, but cheekbone champions from Eastern Europe love over-the-top clubs, and this one will have even more than usual during Fashion Week.

Under the expert doormanship of Wass Stevens--he of the steely blue eyes and corny fingerless gloves--Avenue has maintained its A-list club status, and it should have hordes of human clothes hangers sitting pretty all week long.

The food may be forgettable at Paul Sevigny's "restaurant" (the whole reason for its existence is the downstairs lounge), but the bony and the beautiful don't come for the food--they flock here for the Beatrice Inn-style, anything-goes atmosphere.
