There's nothing better than a good drink or meal--other than that same drink or meal for less, of course. Whether it's a Houston happy hour special, or just a great bar and restaurant deal all the time, we've got you covered for when you really don't want to splurge. Except, of course, on that extra drink. (Photo: Marquis II)

Restaurant and Bar Deals in Houston

Little Woodrow's

2306 Brazos St, Houston, TX 77006

There's always a huge happy hour crowd at this Midtown spot--for good reason. The bar lets you get more for less every night of the week, whether it's the $3.25 mimosas, frozen margaritas and micheladas on Sundays, Giant Mug Night on Thursdays (that's $4 domestic drafts), or, our personal favorite, Big Ass Beers on Tuesdays, where you can get a 23-ounce Guinness, cider or Boddington's for $2 to $4. Bottoms up!

Pub Fiction

2303 Smith St, Houston, TX 77006

It's no fiction--this pub is another popular post-work spot, and it's great if you want some deals on grub in addition to drinks. Get your week started with 99 cent sliders on Mondays, then 32-ounce Tuesdays, where you can get a 16-ounce steak and 16-ounce draft for--that's right--$16. Though we're also big fans of the weekday happy hours from 4pm to 8pm, where you can get $6 domestic pitchers for $6. At that price, first round's on us!

Georgia's Farm to Market

12171 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079

This food store is outside the Beltway, but thanks to its all-you-can-eat brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, it's hard to pass up. For $12.50 from 8am to 3pm, you can stock up on items from the omelet station and salad bar and a rotating menu of organic, locally sourced meats that changes every week.

Oporto Food and Wine Bar

3383 Richmond Ave, Houston, TX 77098

This is for all you cheap dates--and we mean that in the best way possible. For a low-key night that's not short on taste, this Greenway spot delivers. Mondays are Martini and Panini night (cute), where you can get $10 for both and $5 for refills of either. For winos, Tuesdays feature half off on select bottles of wine, though you might want to think twice before ordering a second bottle on a school night.

Les Givral's

2704 Milam St, Houston, TX 77006

For cheap eats in every sense of the term, this Vietnamese sandwich shop is legendary. Most sandwiches clock it at around $3, and you can't go wrong with any of them. The coffee's not bad, either.

Marquis Ii

2631 Bissonnet St, Houston, TX 77005

Two words: Texas Teas. It won't take many of this dive bar's Long Island Iced Teas before you've had too many. On Tuesdays they're $6 or $7 for flavored teas, with the occasional special during the week. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Hughes Hangar

2811 Washington Ave, Houston, TX 77007

Don't let the name fool you--this newish Heights gastro lounge is a nod to the elegance of Howard Hughes? heyday, but without the rich prices. Case in point: on Thursdays and Fridays, you can take advantage of the bar's Prohibition Hour (well, it's really three hours, from 4pm to 7pm), where libation and appetizers are $5 each.
