  1. 1 4.5 Star Rating: Recommended Costa Mesa Omelette Parlor
    Read Reviews

    179 E 17th St, Ste A, Costa Mesa, CA 92627 (map)

"I hit up this place with my girlfriend whenever we can. It?s small and kind of hidden from the street, but it's almost always packed and has been there forever. They make really good skillets and omelettes (duh) and the prices are pretty good, too. I like breakfast."

  2. 2 Laguna Thai By The Sea
    Write a review

31715 Coast Hwy, Laguna Beach, CA 92651 (map)

"Another place I hit up with my girlfriend a lot. Laguna Beach has gotten a lot of attention lately (I wonder why) but it's a really cool town with lots of stuff to do. We usually get some dinner here and cruise up Pacific Coast Highway to catch a movie at the cool old-fashioned theater that still has a balcony and only shows two movies a week. We saw 'March of the Penguins' there once."

  3. 3 4 Star Rating: Recommended Pedro's Tacos
    Read Reviews

550 N El Camino Real, San Clemente, CA 92672 (map)

"My friend Pat told me he can basically live off Pedro's, and only spend five bucks a day. It's small and has outdoor seating (San Clemente is a nice place for outdoor dining) and they have all different kinds of tacos and stuff. I like the potato tacos a lot (good for veggies and vegans). Plus, it's right by the Rainbow Factory, so afterwards you can get the best sandals in the world for cheap."

On the Road (Jesse Kurvink, keyboards)

  1. 4 1 Star Rating: Poor Original Pancake House
    Read Reviews

817 Bloomfield Ave, West Caldwell, NJ 07006 (map)

"My friend Matt took me here a few times. It's right by his house and they make these amazing chocolate-chip pancakes where the chocolate is all warm and melty and delicious. They give you a lot of food, too, so it's pretty easy to fill up. I like the banana pancakes, too. Bananas are good for you."

  2. 5 3.5 Star Rating: Average Cup Cafe
    Read Reviews

311 E Congress St, Tucson, AZ 85701 (map)

"Hotel Congress is a great, old, creepy hotel-slash-venue-slash-restaurant-slash-bar-slash-haunted place in already-creepy Tucson that we've played at a bunch of times. The Cup Cafe makes great food all day long, but I love eating a nice dinner there. I recommend getting the marsala chicken fettuccini, a nice glass of wine, and then going and freaking all your friends out by messing with them in their sketchy, haunted rooms. The Iguana Cafe down the street is pretty bomb, too."

  3. 6 3.5 Star Rating: Average Marisco Grill
    Read Reviews

211 E Sixth St, Austin, TX 78701 (map)

"The one by Sixth Street, not the other one. It?s hard to find good Mexican food outside of Southern California, but this place has literally the best fish tacos I?ve ever had in my life, outside of Mexico. I can put down six of these things, no problem. A must-have whenever we're in Austin. Good for when you have a break in the day during South by Southwest."

At Home: Southern California (Forrest Kline, vocals)

  1. 7 5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended Jan's Health Bar
    Read Reviews

501 Main St Ste D, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 (map)

"It's the kind of place I can eat almost every day. I'm pretty much always in the mood for a spectacular avocado sandwich. Get a smoothie, a sandwich, some Have'A chips, wheee!"

  2. 8 4 Star Rating: Recommended Wheel Of Life
    Read Reviews

14370 Culver Dr Ste 2, Irvine, CA 92604 (map)

"Awesome vegan place featuring Victor, the owner, who rules. He'll tell you about how he has four-generation vegan power and shake your hand. But that's not really its selling point, the BBQ chicken with sweet sauce is, and the fried banana wonton with coconut ice cream."

  3. 9 4.5 Star Rating: Recommended Native Foods Inc
    Read Reviews

2937 Bristol St, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 (map)

"All vegan and all incredible! Everything on the menu rules. I can't help but get the chicken-run ranch burger most every time, though. The iced tea is to die for."

On the Road (Forrest Kline, vocals)

  1. 10 4.5 Star Rating: Recommended Red Bamboo
    Read Reviews

    140 W 4TH St, New York, NY 10012 (map)

"The buffalo wings are crazy good. Fake ones, I mean, but you'd never know it, except for the stick they?re on instead of a bone. The sauce makes my lips all puckery, but in a good, 'I just ate red bamboo' way. And I had this one cheesecake there that was beautiful, luscious, rich cheesecake with like half an inch of fudge on the top with a chocolate cookie crust."

  2. 11 5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended Dish Bay WALK
    Read Reviews

    197 2nd Ave N, St Petersburg, FL 33701 (map)

"A classier Mongolian BBQ than you usually see. There?s every veggie/bean/tofu (and meat) you could want and like 20 crazy sauces. You grab your stuff and they cook it up for you and you get a bunch of rice and tortillas for the table so you can eat it any way you want. And it?s all-you-can-eat, so you can try a few different angles on your ingredient/sauce dynamics."

  3. 12 4 Star Rating: Recommended Gianna's Grille
    Read Reviews

    507 S 6th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 (map)

"Vegan cheese steaks that are, like, kind of gnarly like a real Philly cheese steak. And the dessert window is insane. Get a Gianna?s Grille special and then a few desserts for later when you can handle it."

At Home: Southern California (Chris Profeta, drums)

    Read Reviews

2413 S Walker Ave, San Pedro, CA 90731 (map)

    Read Reviews

7311 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103 (map)

"It's open 24 hours. It has all-you-can-eat hash browns and the biggest omelettes you?ve ever seen."

  2. 17 4.5 Star Rating: Recommended Red Bamboo
    Read Reviews

    140 W 4TH St, New York, NY 10012 (map)

"I'm not a fan of vegan food, except for this place."

  3. 18 3.5 Star Rating: Average Ruby Foo's Times Square

1626 Broadway, New York, NY 10019 (map)

    "Awesome Japanese food."

  4. 19 4 Star Rating: Recommended Jim's Steaks

400 South St, Philadelphia, PA 19147 (map)

    "The one, the only."

At Home: Southern California (Marcus Cole, bass)

  1. 20 4 Star Rating: Recommended Super Pollo
    Read Reviews

1731 Superior Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92627 (map)

"This is probably the place that Chipotle and El Pollo Loco ripped off. Super Pollo is a little hole-in-the-wall chicken place that tastes about 10 million times better than El Pollo Loco and serves huge burritos like Chipotle. The only difference is Super Pollo did it first and they do it better. Plus ? Second Spin is also within walking distance ?"

  2. 21 5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended Fiesta Grill & Catering
    Read Reviews

418 17th St, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 (map)

"Fiesta Grill rules mainly because of the dude, Carlos, who works there all the time. But ? the food is awesome, they have goooood horchata and it's ? right up the street from where I like to body surf. So it?s basically like go eat a burrito and then go get barreled all within about a 150 yards of each other."

On the Road (Marcus Cole, bass)

  1. 22 4 Star Rating: Recommended Cafe Coco
    Read Reviews

210 Louise Ave, Nashville, TN 37203 (map)

"There's not a whole lot to do in Nashville--well, at least not where we always end up, which is by this venue called the Exit Inn. There's a smoke shop, a vintage store, some bars and Coco's. And this isn?t Coco's, the restaurant chain. It?s this kinda hippie, kinda scene-y little cafe that I would probably stay away from except for the fact it's open late and the food is really good. And one time I found a quarter there, so you know that?s pretty cool."

  2. 23 Pizza King
    Write a review

1312 Main St, Lordsburg, NM 88045 (map)

"Aww, Pizza King, I will never forget thee. It's basically an oasis in the desert. As any touring band knows, there isn't a whole lot of anything in New Mexico, except for tons of firework stands and moccasins. Then, out of nowhere, comes Lordsburg, this small town, so small you could miss it in the blink of an eye. And in Lordsburg is this little place? I'll be honest, there?s nothing really that great about it, but when you have been driving for six hours and all you?ve eaten is gas-station food, Pizza King is looking pretty good. Plus, they have a 25-cent machine (which we have totally emptied twice) that dispenses rings that blink different colors. So, rings, pizza, in a desert--it?s a pretty good deal."

  3. 24 4 Star Rating: Recommended Beth's Cafe
    Read Reviews

7311 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103 (map)

"Beth's is interesting, to say the least. First off, as soon as you enter you are met by the smell of stale cigarettes--I?m talking, like, smoke five packs a day in a closet for a thousand years stale. Like, in order to get rid of the smell you would have to knock the building down, disinfect the plot of land it sits on and rebuild it with all new materials, stale. It also has weird, funny, creepy, etc. drawings taped all over the wall--pretty much if you draw it, they?ll display it. Also, nerds on laptops often sit in there and geek out and give you dirty looks... But aside from all those things, there are three reasons why Beth's rules: 1) Free refills on coffee 2) Free refills on hash browns 3) 12-egg omelettes."
