From April 2 to April 12, the long-running "Glory of Easter" musical passion play features more than 100 actors, soaring angels and special effects for a spectacular, emotional experience. Tickets are $35-$45, with $20 discount nights available.

Head downtown the day before Easter for the annual Blessing of the Animals, a special rite of passage where Cardinal Roger Mahoney delivers a blessing over Angelenos and their pets. The service begins at 2pm. Animals and their owners should assemble on the north side of the Plaza at El Pueblo Historic Park. The procession and festivities go on from 12pm to 5pm, and it's free to participate.

True to its name, the California coast-inspired menu at this fancy seaside hotel restaurant spotlights fresh catches from both sea and land. For the Easter holiday, guests can enjoy a three-course menu for $60 per person. Choices include starters like a "daily gathering of lettuces and herbs," entrees like Dungeness Crab Benedict, grilled ribe eye, and desserts like a warm Valhrona cake.

In honor of the Easter holiday, this popular brasserie will be offering a special $15 prix fixe menu from 10am-5pm. The special three-course prix-fixe menu will feature starters like salads, artisan cheeses and charcuterie served at the exhibition kitchen's counter; a main course of either lamb or fish, served family-style with accompanying mashed potatoes and mixed veggies; and desserts galore including Bob’s Donuts, homemade cakes and pies, ice cream and sorbets, and candies and chocolates. Adults $59, children under 11 are $29.
