Celebrity-Owned Restaurants in LA

Much like a movie can be a blockbuster or do a box-office belly flop, restaurants can be a major hit or a serious miss. Perhaps knowing about the potential pitfalls and payoffs of Hollywood, many celebs are translating their skills into another industry--the restaurant biz. If you're looking to chow down and live it up at one of LA's celebrity-owned restaurants, take a look at our list. (Photo: Shutterstock)

LA's Celeb-Owned Restaurants

Ago Restaurant

8478 Melrose Ave, West Hollywood, CA 90069

Hollywood honchos like Robert De Niro and the Weinstein brothers have been backers of this Italian mainstay forever. (We've spotted Chris "Mr. Big" Noth here on a few occasions.)

Mulberry Street Pizzeria

240 S Beverly Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90212

Oscar-winner Cathy Moriarty slices through Beverly Hills pomposity with this, her casual, graffiti-laced, Brooklyn-style pizzeria.

House of Blues

8430 W Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

Sure, this famous music venue is contrived, but celeb investors like Dan Akroyd and Jim Belushi have managed to keep this three-part harmony of rusty steel, voodoo dolls and superstars alive on the Sunset Strip.

Milky Way

9108 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035

Steven Spielberg's mom dishes out global kosher food in a home-sweet-home setting. If you're in the Pico-Robertson area, swing by for some of Ma's diner-style cooking. Hey, if it was good enough for Steven ...

Geisha House

6633 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028

This red-hued, has-been party house disguised as a pan-Asian restaurant is owned by Ashton Kutcher and friends. Even if its days as a Hollywood "it" spot are over, out-of-towners still can't get enough of the sushi rolls, drinks and doucherrific scene.

Beso

6350 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028

Eva "Mrs. Parker" Longoria and celeb chef Todd English are behind this trendy Latin-style tapas spot that's not really known for its food. Sample exotic tequilas and don't miss the "adult juice bar."

Ketchup

8590 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069

Ashton Kutcher and the Dolce Group do it again, this time on the Sunset Strip. The ketchup-themed restaurant offers eight kinds of ketchup and an "upscale" (read: pricier) twist on American favorites like Kobe corn dogs, meatloaf and chicken pot pie.

Tagine LLP

132 N Robertson Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90211

Ryan (he's so cute!) Gosling is a partner in this Beverly Hills eatery that serves up Moroccan and North African cuisine. The candlelit, loungey atmosphere and concise menu will leave you wanting nothing else ... except a date with Ryan, of course.

Dominick's Restaurant

8715 Beverly Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90048

Secret's out: Rose McGowan, Ben Harper and Laura Dern are all silent partners in this Greenwich Village-meets-speakeasy restaurant that serves up simple Italian fare. (We hear Britney Spears is among the many celeb fans.)

La Vida

1448 N Gower St, Los Angeles, CA 90028

Once the forgettable restaurant known as Eat, this beautifully transformed corner spot on Sunset and Gower is where to go for Latin-tinged fare and delish drinks. Did we mention Gilles Marini --the naked guy from the "Sex and the City" movie and kickass dancer from "Dancing With the Stars"--is an investor? You might not catch him in his skivvies, but one can dream.
