Lulu B's Sandwiches

Lulu B's Sandwiches

Austin, TX

For a hefty helping of Vietnamese banh mi or a bowl of vermicelli, stop by the Lulu B's trailer and South Lamar for a quiet meal under the trees.

Black Sheep Lodge

Black Sheep Lodge

Austin, TX

Clientele-wise, Black Sheep is a little like the Lustre Pearl of South Lamar, attracting hipsters and frat guys in equal measure. Stereotypes aside they all love to watch sports, and the huge selection of beers help these two populations get along swimmingly. Black Sheep Lodge also serves pub food that is head-and-shoulders in quality above what we normally mean when we say "pub food."

Red's Porch

Red's Porch

Austin, TX

When the weather is nice, the huge upstairs patio is one of the best places to be in Austin with a beer in hand from their extensive list of draft brews. Show up early, it gets packed.

Baker Street Pub & Grill. Located in one of South Lamar's many old-school strip malls, this pub was formerly The Alligator Grill a.k.a. Chotchkie's in the cult comedy Office Space. This is where a non-annoying Jennifer Aniston dazzled us with her flair. Since Office Space was shot in Austin and is arguably about life in Austin, there are plenty of other Office Space locations to check out, but none are as satiating as this locale. If reenacting Mike Judge's finest work isn't your thing, then check out Baker Street's classy pub grub including Sesame Ginger Chicken and Quinoa Salad or London Platter (fried cod, shrimp and fries with vinegar)!… read more
