great crowd and drinks, but horrible service.. great friendly crowd. Fabulous mai tai was also huge and strong. Food was ordinary, but ok. Seagulls were very aggressive. Service was terrible - I left after appetizers and drinks when I realized I coulod walk to another restaurant, get seated, and get supper sooner than I oculd if I stayed there.
Galveston's only restaurant built directly over the Gulf..
In Short
This relaxed seafood spot is a favorite for locals and tourists alike. Dine indoors near the spacious bar and mermaid mural, or choose a table on the covered outdoor patio. From here you'll enjoy one of Galveston's best views of the Gulf (as long as you don't feed any seagulls). The menu features sandwiches, po'boys, fried seafood entrees and a range of grilled entrees including chicken, pasta, fish and shrimp.
local restaurant. Sitting on the deck out over the water seemed neat, with great view, fun atmosphere. The seafood was very good but pricey for the portions. The sides were lame and uninteresting.
Local Flair and pretty good Seafood. The novelty is sitting on the deck out over the water. Great view, fun atmosphere. Of course the outside seating includes the smoking section, but the breeze from the water at least keeps the smoke at a minimum. The seafood was very good but pricey for the portions. The sides were lame and uninteresting. I was surprised to find no waiting on a Saturday night in August. Avoid the tea, it must have been made with seawater! You get better value elsewhere, but this IS good local flair.
