Texas' famed Big Thicket, with its cypress, gators and waterfowl, showcases this Lone Star gem. – Overview
This heavily forested park on Village Creek is typical of the Big Thicket. It's swamp country, so birds, reptiles and fish are abundant; a bountiful place to view wildlife and plants. Activities include camping, picnicking, swimming--it's a 1-mile hike to a sandbar swimming area--hiking, fishing, nature study and bird watching.

The Experience
Facilities for campers include campsites with water, electricity, fire rings, lantern posts, benches, and picnic tables; a trailer dump station; walk-in tent campsites with tent area, fire rings, lantern posts, picnic tables and benches. Also available are ADA-accessible restrooms and showers and 8 miles of hiking, mountain biking and nature trails.
