Crepes A-Go Go is NOW Crepes Ooh La La! – "Crepes A Go Go" previously on N.Main Street is now "Crepes Ooh La La" now on Locust St. Colleague & I went here spontaneously during our lunch walk Wed (7/22/09) to try this new location out. Glad we did...ooh la la in deed for these crepes!

LOCATION: Ok folks, the NEW addy is 1548 Locust St, Walnut Creek, CA 94596. In btw a deli-cafe restaurant & a massage parlor of some sort. Nothing but meter parking here folks. Outdoor seating optional w/ shade provided by building structure, no table umbrellas necessary. Inside, about 8 tables & plenty of armless chairs. Left side of restaurant, tables are aligned by the bench seat running across the length of wall, w/ chairs on the other side of tables. Right side of restaurant, all 4-seater tables have chairs. Long wall mirrors on both left & right side of restaurant giving illusion of larger space & helps reflect the light in here too. Overall place is clean, spacious, welcoming/friendly for anyone.

CUST SVC: Stopped in just about 12:45pm on a Wednesday...only 2 employees (lady & gent) holdin' it down in here w/ hosting, waiting, cooking, & cashiering. Prob about 12 people dinning in at this time. Both were quick as they could be, polite, & friendly. I was getting concerned when we didn't get our water after sitting about 5min, but they came w/ our crepes...water could've used more ice too now that I think about it.

CREPES: Colleague & I went for the Sweet Menu side *tee-hee*. She got Nutella & Banana, which she really enjoyed. I had Strawberries, Lemon, & Sugar, which was deeeelicous! My crepe had a nice taste & crunch on the outside & my strawberries were plenty AND fresh. The taste almost made me reminiscient of Kellog's Frosted Flakes w/ strawberries, just no milk...needless tho, it was very very good =)

FINAL TAB: Colleague paid $6.01 & I paid $6.28. Pay up front @ the cash register & leave tip in their tip bucket next to register. Treat yourself to a sweet crepe here fo' sho'! They get my scrum-didly-umptous stamp of approval *tee-hee*

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! – First and foremost, the service was one of the WORST I had ever experienced. The little asian waitress was extremely rude and purposely messed up my order. I was in town visiting from NYC, we have pretty great crepes places out here. The crepes I ordered at Crepes a go go were like a stale burrito tortilla. I could not believe they call that Crepes. Not to mention, the rest of the staff hardly speaks English and there was Sirachi hot sauce on each table. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! You are wasting your money on food and service that really Stinks!!!

Not very good and getting worse – This used to be my favorite restaurant in Walnut Creek but it has really gone downhill.

We asked for a table for 5 and they pointed to two tables, one that seated four and one t hat seated two. So we pushed the tables together to save the employees from having to do any work. The table featred a modest vase with wilted carnations. Very nice.

One of the nice things about a French cafe is the music. It seems the owners have decided that the sounded needed to be bit more multicultural so they decided to mix in mexican love songs. Instead of the lyrical singing of Gallic chanteuses, the only french music they played sounded like sickly yodeling.

But that's OK, it goes well with the shabby signage, the rain-stains in the ceiling and the beautiful view of the dishwashing area.

The crepe I ordered was the spinach, mushrom and swiss and asked that they add chicken. It arrived fairly soon but one taste and the meal was ruined. The chicken had been prepared with what tasted like taco seasoning. Cayenne pepper and diced tomatoes were added to shredded chicken. It was horrible. I took the plate to the counter and complained about the taco seasoing. The manager scolded the cook for using taco seasoning and if I could read her manner, it was as if she was scolding the new hire about screwing up yet another customer's order. "Seasoning?" asked the cook in a very non-French, non-English, non-European, non-Western accent. He had never heard the term! "What's seasoning?" The manager pointed to a shaker on the counter. "No, it's just lemon and salt." So I paid for the meal and promised myself I'd never to return to this pit.

There has to be a creperie that understands that customer service, ambience, authentic food preparation and cleanliness are essential to pleasing customers. Maybe I just happened to drop in on the first night after they hired a new cook that used to work on a lunch truck. Or maybe it's just going downhill.

Authentic European Flavour – If you ever been to southern France, Italy or Spain, You would agree with me that Crepes a go-go in Walnut Creek, CA creates an illusion and lures you in to believe that you are back.

Maybe it's plain, maybe it's a simple room....but it's genuine and authentic.

Personally I love the music and the atmosphere. I closed my eyes, took a bite and smiled! It's real and true. I'm vegetarian myself so I can't tell you about any of the meatier crepes. The Spinach and mushroom crepe was sautéed just perfect. Not too soft and not raw. I had it with Feta cheese and I can highly recommend trying a crepe with Feta.

The dessert crepes had fresh and crisp fruit.

Don't go to this place full but do take your time eating. Slow is the way. Take the time to chit chat and enjoy the meal for more than just the food.

It's not fancy but wow is it yummy and real!

Great Crepes – If crepes are your thing, or you are just looking for something a little different you have got to try this place. There is a variety of sweet and savory items and I have not had a bad one yet. They have had some mild inconsistency with food due to turn over, but it has never been bad. It can be a bit crowded at times, but not unpleasant.
