For fail-safe thrift shopping, head south. – Really Big Shop
The benefit of big-store shopping is that the chances of finding those cool Dickies work pants in your size is so much greater. The big, warehouse-style building is relatively well lit. There's enough room to walk comfortably between aisles and that inevitable funky thrift store smell is almost imperceptible. It may cost a little extra for the comfort and big selection, but novice shoppers won't complain. If you're unlucky enough to be on a tight budget and tighter schedule, heading for this big-name thrift-store is a safe bet.
This Salvation Army has a bonus area: a designated vintage area for truly classic clothing and fine collectibles. Unfortunately, with the vintage label comes a steeper price tag. Prepare for a minor case of sticker shock. The furniture can be especially pricey by thrift-store standards, but the selection is mighty fine.
